Why True Blue You and Me as a name? Because I chose it impulsively and it stuck!
First of all I love crafts. I love reading about them, doing them, and coming up with new ones. You name it, I’ve done it except for anything that involves a kiln, glass blowing, crocheting, or non-digital scrapbooking. I think that the bloggers who are coming up with original tutorials and posting them are amazing – seriously. I have done YouTube videos and putting anything out there on the web that is pretty good takes a lot of time and a little courage in this time of “trolls” and people willing to tear down anything positive out there.
This is the sister blog to the one I have on Tumblr and I have another blog geared to kids’ craft at unicornhatparty. I wanted to make sure that I had the autonomy to keep a record of all my crafts’ posts as the purpose of my blog has become to catalogue crafts I truly love and would do myself. I love the look of handmade crafts, those I call “Homemade Awesome”. I have sold hand crafted accessories and jewelry to Urban Outfitters and numerous boutiques so I know how hard it is to come up with a high quality and original product.
I read through every tutorial/craft I post and also the comments’ section. Why? Because I post crafts that I really want to do and I want to make sure they are doable and understandable and the comments section usually provides some feedback (especially food, beauty and cleaning recipes) and also really good tips.
I will cite and link, if known, sources for my posts because I believe in giving credit to the photographer/designer/blogger. To act like it’s your own idea or post someones tutorial word for word is just wrong. I use google search image agressively on Tumblr, thus this blog and Pinterest.
